The Original Street Fighter

The first Sonny Chiba movie I ever watched was given to me by my brother for Christmas of 1999. The film is the now immortalized, "Karate Fighter". This movie, of cours, propelled me into what is now known as Chiba Fanatacism. I don't care how many movies I will end up buying of Sonny Chiba, this one thing is certain, broken bones jutting out of skin will never get old and tired. For that matter neither will groin extractions by the mighty Chiba. The movie Karate Fighter tells the tale of a man named...Sonny Chiba. Sonny is taking on the heroin triads of Hong Kong. With so many martial arts movies taking on and destroying triads you think that triads would be extinguished by now, but they are not and that is why our main man Sonny has to destroy them. During the beginning of the film Sonny makes an enemy of a bad <curse> martial artist. This bad <curse> follows Chiba throughout the rest of the film. Other individuals that Sonny meets during his 90 minute frolic include, but not limited to, a boy that Sonny teaches to fish, the boy's sister that Sonny hits on, another girl that is the triads "woman", and a whole barrel full of street thugs to bust up. Sonny Chiba does some great karate action throughout this movie. There is no blah action scene. Karate Fighter has plenty of bone breaking and skull crushing to satisfy even Pol Pot...that might not be that funny. This movie of course puts action before the story, so don't go into this movie expecting to view a tear jerker with lots of heart felt moments like Over the Top...now that, that was a movie.

It was brought to my attention that not everyone has heard of MMJ's departure from this world. His site claims he has passed from the earthly realm into the eternal peaceful heavenly realm. This of course is false. MMJ has, according to my sources, treked to Alabama to catch up with a ebay powerseller that sold him a "beast" of a camera. If this is true, I wish him the best of luck.
