October 22 and Jon
Today is just a typical Wednesday in October. Nothing is planned today but to go through the normal routine of classes and work that needs to be done. However, for my brother Jon it is not just a typical boring day undistinguishable from other days. Today is a day that affects his life and more importantly the lives of his children and wife. He is off to serve our country as a TAC-P "somewhere" on the globe. Jon will not be back for months and will definitely have a new impression of the world when he returns. Consequently I know that because of volunteers like him serving in the military it allows the rest of us to hold on to our selective service cards with the knowledge it probably will never be used. As a result we are able to go about and do what we always do, normal routines on a boring normal day. Jon, keep safe!
